Fresh poultry faecal samples were collected from various poultry farms for analysis. The preliminary findings indicated the presence of both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Recognizing the significant threat posed by antibiotic resistance to both animal and human health, especially due to the excessive use of controlled antibiotics in animal husbandry, efforts were made to isolate and evaluate antibiotic-resistant bacteria from the faecal samples. It was observed that 41% of the bacteria exhibited resistance, with specific colonies identified as 17, III, IV, 16, and II. Notably, three bacterial colonies, namely 17, III, and IV, demonstrated multi-drug resistance, highlighting the urgent need for effective strategies to mitigate contamination and curb the proliferation of antibiotic-resistant bacteria in poultry environments.
